American Idol judge Simon Cowell has Perez Hilton’s back in his campaign to take his spot on the judges table. According to USA Today, Cowell told reporters, “Perez would be funny. He’s got a good taste in music, he’s got a personality, that could work.”
Simon would also like to get Lady Gaga back on the show, although he didn’t say if she would make a good judge. Cowell believes she would be a great mentor to the contestants. “She is the most relevant pop artist in the world right now,” he said.
Perez recently met with MTV News where he was very clear that he wanted Cowell’s spot on the show. Considering Perez and Simon Fuller have a boy band search underway, this may be feasible.
