Residents of the Greater Los Angeles area felt a 4.5 earthquake shortly before 1:00 a.m. local time on Thursday.
There have been no reports of injuries or major damage to buildings or houses as a result of the quake whose epicenter was just northwest of Chatsworth. Chris Harris, a Canoga Park resident, described the quick jolt as "a real jerk, then a second jerk and then it just stopped.”
The early morning temblor awoke residents and knocked items off of shelves and walls in some homes but little else.
