Tigers Bonderman still Learning on the Job

Jeremy Bonderman of the Detroit Tigers was at one point 10-1 with a 3.50 era, but those days are gone.

Bonderman hast lost his fourth consecutive decision and has struggle in the first inning in each of those including Thursday's lost at home to the Tampa Bay D'Rays.

Bonderman has an era of over 12.00 in first innings this season, easily the worst in the majors.

Manager Jim Leyland said in his post comments that "It's almost like there's been so much talk about the first inning that he's pitching not to give up a run in the first," Leyland said. "I don't know that. Check with him."

At just 23 years of age, Bonderman is still learning and many people forget about that with such great performances on the mound.

In order for Bonderman to prove that he is one of the elite pitchers in the league, he has to prove he can have as good as a second half as he does the first.
