Common Reaches First No. 1 Album with Finding Forever

Common's newest album Finding Forever has given the rapper his first No. 1 album in his 14-year career. The album, executive produced by Kanye West, sold 155,000 copies in its first week, sitting atop of the Nielsen Soundscan list, ahead of Korn's Untitled project, which sold 123,000 copies.

Even though it sits at No. 1, Common's 2005 project Be sold more copies in its first week, selling 185,000 copies in its first week. The album, also produced by West, started and peaked at No. 2.

The album features production by West and J Dilla, a well-respected hip hop producer who died due to liver complications in 2006. R&B crooner D'Angelo makes a comeback for the album, which also features Black Eyed Peas' frontman Will.I.Am. Common will most likely be featured on Kanye West's new album, Graduation, which comes out on September 11.
