Tigers promoted OF Cameron Maybin to Double-A Erie.
The team's No. 1 prospect hit .304 with 10 homers in 83 games at Single-A Lakefield to earn the promotion.
Maybin who is 20 years old, missed most of July, including the All-Star Futures Game in San Francisco, because of a partial dislocation of his right shoulder.
Tigers General Manager Dave Dombrowski said Maybin is not a candidate to be called up when rosters expand to 40 in September.
Especially with the outfield as crowded as it is now, there may be only room for one slick fielding and young hitter on the team in Granderson.
