Tiger Woods Heads into Final Day of PGA Championship with Three Stroke Lead

After firing a 7-under 63 on Friday Tiger Woods continued his push towards capturing his 13th major on Saturday finishing the day 1-under par.

Woods is now sitting atop the leaderboard with a 7-under, three strokes ahead of Canadian Stephen Ames who finished the day 1-under as well. Scott Verplank entered the day second on the leaderboard but a four over left him tied for sixth with six other golfers.

Boo Weekley is one of those golfers tied for sixth. Entering the day Weekely was tied for 55th place but he birdied five of the first eight holes on the back nine at Southern Hills and finished his day at 5-under.

Weekley was also involved in the disqualification of Sergio Garcia for signing an incorrect scorecard. Weekley was responsible for recording a “4” for Garcia on the 17th hole. Garcia actually shot a five on the hole but signed the scorecard anyway.

After leaving the scorer’s tent Garcia was automatically disqualified.
