Entertainment mogul Merv Griffin died Sunday at the age of 82. Griffin announced in July that he was being treated for a reoccurrence of prostate cancer. Recent reports over the past week said he was in “grave condition.” Griffin died early this morning around 3 a.m. with his son, Tony, by his side.
Griffin was a business man. He invested in real estate, but was better know for his talk show and game shows. From 1965 to 1986, Griffin hosted his own talk show called “The Merv Griffin Show.” He created popular game shows that are still on air today including Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune.
Griffin is survived by his son, his ex-wife Julann Griffin, and two grandchildren.
