Dreaming Weaver Awesome vs Chi Sox

Weaver's gem, coupled with a flurry of Mariners home runs, helped Seattle power past the White Sox, 6-0, in front of 36,629 fans Sunday at U.S. Cellular Field.

The win concluded a very successful road trip for the Mariners, who swept the Orioles before taking two of three in Chicago.

Weaver had not defeated the Sox since 2001, although he had little trouble putting them down Sunday.

After working his way out of a jam in the first inning he cruised, and retired 14 of the next 16 batters he faced from the second inning through the sixth.

Richie Sexson, Adrian Beltre and Jose Guillen all homered off White Sox starter John Danks, who was chased after 4 1/3 innings, as he allowed six earned runs on eight hits through that span.

The win was Weaver's second straight, and also helped the Mariners continue to keep pace with the Yankees in the Wild Card race.
