NFL Suspends Vick for Season?

The NFL dismissed a report that commissioner Roger Goodell was suspending Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick for the entire 2007 season. Yahoo.com printed earlier today that Goodell announced today that he was going to decide "this week or next" to suspend Vick for the season. According to the NFL, they have not made such a statement nor action.

In late July, Vick pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to travel in interstate commerce in aid of unlawful activities, and conspiring to sponsor a dog in an animal fighting venture. Tony Taylor, one of Vick's co-defendants, pleaded guilty to the same charges and pledged to fully cooperate with the government in its prosecution of Vick and two others. The plea deal requires Taylor to testify against Vick and his two remaining co-defendants if called upon to do so.

Vick has been barred from training camp by Goodell. Falcons coach Bobby Petrino stated that he does not talk to his players about the Vick situation.
