Steve McNair looked solid in his only drive as quarterback and the Baltimore Ravens didn’t commit a single turnover as they beat the Philadelphia Eagles 29-3 on Monday night.
McNair completed 6-8 passes for 73 yards as the Ravens completed a 93-yard drive for the game’s opening touchdown in the first quarter. Matt Stover added a 50-yard field goal in the second to boost the Ravens lead to 10-0.
Philadelphia, playing without injured Donovan McNabb managed just one field goal from David Akers in the game and were held to 183 yards of total offense. The Ravens defense concentrated on the Eagles running game and held Philly to just 23 yards on the ground.
Drew Olson filled in for McNair and looked impressive as well throwing for 84 yards on 7-9 passing and a touchdown. In his first game in a Ravens uniform Willis McGahee carried the ball four times for 20 yards, including a 16 yard sprint in Baltimore’s opening drive.
Stover finished with five field goals in the game and looks prepared for his 18th season in the NFL.
