JON McLAUGHLIN APPEARS ON THE TONIGHT SHOW AND ITUNES SALES OF INDIANA JUMP 60 %

SETS TWO MONTHS OF TOURING BEFORE AN OCTOBER – DECEMBER RUN WITH KELLY CLARKSON

Following his premiere appearance last Tuesday night on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, sales of Jon McLaughlin’s acclaimed release    INDIANA jumped over 60% at the iTunes Store (www.itunes.com)! In addition, the American heartland singer-songwriter and pianist is gearing up for a rigorous four-month tour schedule starting this weekend.  Since the May 1st release of INDIANA, Jon has been touring virtually non-stop (including a month with Grammy award-winning guitarist Jonny Lang).

Jon’s upcoming road trip includes four weeks of shows with northern California singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles (starting August 27th), then two weeks with Scottish singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini (starting September 30th).  The itinerary is peppered with solo headlining dates, and climaxes with a homecoming concert at Anderson University, Jon’s hometown alma mater in Indiana.  (Please see tour schedule below.)  Shortly thereafter in October, Jon will join Kelly Clarkson for seven weeks on her much-anticipated tour (dates to be announced).

Named one of “The Boys of Summer” by US Weekly magazine, Jon will be seen performing on the August 24th episode of the CBS-TV daytime drama The Bold & The Beautiful, alongside American Idol alumn Elliot Yamin. This has been a busy season for Jon, who was featured June 10th on the NPR (National Public Radio) program “Weekend Edition,” which resulted in INDIANA rocketing up the Amazon charts.  Later that month, he performed “Beautiful Disaster” live on NBC’s The Today ShowUSA Today highlighted the song, noting:  “The title’s first word is how he sees her.  The second word is how she sees herself.  The sad thing is he’s right.”

INDIANA’s title tune pays tribute to Jon’s hometown of Anderson.  He has written songs for the album with the Matrix, Jamie Houston, Grammy-nominated Marcus Hummon, Matthew Gerard, and Kevin Griffin (of Better Than Ezra).  The album was produced by Jamie Houston (credits: Santana, Jessica Simpson, Macy Gray, The Calling) and Greg Wells (Natasha Bedingfield, Veronicas, OTEP, Rufus Wainwright); and was mixed by Chris Lord Alge.
