“The scope of these recalls in intentionally large to prevent any injuries from occurring,” said Nancy A. Nord, a chairmen for the Consumer Product safety Commission.
The Tuesday recall was the second in two weeks involving lead paint on Mattel toys, and the latest in a long line of recalls of toys made in
Nord said Mattel was “working extremely hard to address your concerns and continue creating safe, entertaining toys for you and your children.” She added that Mattel has stopped selling the recalled products and ask retailer to pull the toys of there shelves. They are also offering a replacement toy.
“There is no excuse for lead to be found in toys entering this country. It’s totally unacceptable and it needs to stop,” Nord said.
