2010 Winter Olympics Results Ski Jumping Men’s Individual Large Hill Finals: Simon Ammann Grabs Second Gold of Games in Dominant Fashion
Simon Ammann is having an Olympics to remember as the Swiss star captured his second gold medal in as many events after dominating the men’s ski jumping individual large hill, finishing first in both rounds of jumps to total a 283.6.
Ammann laid down a 144.7 jump in the initial round, a mark no other jumper could match and in the second round he hit a 138.9, something that went unmatched as well. Ammann actually grabbed the first gold of the 2010 Winter Olympics when he won the ski jumping individual normal hill.
Poland’s Adam Malysz put himself in strong position for a medal with his first jump as he landed a 138.1 and he followed that with a 131.3 to easily take the silver.
Gregor Schlierenzauer of Austria managed to take the bronze after a strong second round jump.
