2010 Winter Olympics Results Short Track Speedskating Men’s 1000M Finals South Korea Goes 1-2, Apolo Anton Ohno Takes Bronze
While South Korea’s Lee Jung-Su and Lee Ho-Suk finished one-two in the men’s short track speedskating 1000m at the 2010 Winter Olympics the story of the event was Apolo Anton Ohno who grabbed bronze to become the most decorated winter Olympian in American history.
Lee Jung-Su finished in a blazing 1:23.747 to take gold, his second gold of the Games after winning the 1,500m short track. For Lee Ho-Suk, the silver medal was his first piece of Olympic hardware after being disqualified in the 1,500m and failing to reach the finals in the 5000m relay.
For Apolo Anton Ohno the 1000m was historic as he surpassed Bonnie Blair to become the most decorated winter Olympian in American history with his seventh Olympic medal. Ohno earned silver in the 1,500m to match Blair earlier and on Saturday he eclipsed the legendary speed skater to earn a spot in American history.
Ohno now has two gold, two silver and three bronze medals in three Olympic Games.
