Mitt Romney won last Saturday's Ames Straw Poll in what is considered the first major Republican battle on the road to the White House. And as such, the media will report that Mitt Romney won.
According to USAElectionPolls.com, such reporting is simplistic and lacks any in-depth statistical analysis as to what the results really mean.
Mitt Romney won by 13% over his next closest competitor, Mike Huckabee, yet USAElectionPolls.com claims that to be unimpressive considering he only received 31%.
When removing Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, Fred Thompson, Newt Gingrich, and the large number of undecideds from the past 4 poll results, Romney would be in the 70% range.
