Deutsche Lufthansa AG is preparing for its pilots to strike tomorrow after failed negotiations with the union, which is demanding the airline extend pay and conditions to foreign-based crews.
As of now, it’s looking like a strike of 4,500 pilots.
Lufthansa spokeswoman Stefanie Stotz said in a phone interview: “We’ve already spelled out our conditions for resuming talks: the offer to call legal arbitration on the issue of exporting tariff accords abroad is unacceptable to us. We’re preparing for a strike as Cockpit has evidently failed to remove the main obstacle.”
