It has been 30 years since the king of rock Elvis Presley died on Aug. 16, 1977 and his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, will mark the anniversary with a new version of her father’s 1969 classic “In the Ghetto.”
Lisa Marie will release a video that features images of herself and her father as she sings along with the man who changed rock and roll music.
In the updated version of the song Lisa Marie Presley’s voice was added to the original to create the duet. Lisa Marie revealed in an interview that “We had two hours to lay down my vocals. So the next morning, I heard the rough ... and ... I've never cried when I've done anything ... ever ... but I just lost it when I heard it.”
Proceeds from the Elvis duet will go to building temporary housing for the homeless in New Orleans.
