Suicide Bombing in Afghanistan Kills Influential Tribal Chief

An influential tribal chief who played an important role in fighting Taliban and al-Qaeda forces in Afghanistan has been killed by a suicide bomber in the eastern province of Nangarhar,

According to reports Mohammad Haji Zaman had been speaking with a group of refugees when the attack occurred. In addition to killing the tribal chief another 14 people died in the blast.

There have been no claims of responsibility for the bombing.
