Roger Federer Withdraws from Dubai

Top-Ranked Player Sick

On Sunday, Roger Federer withdrew from the Dubai Tennis Championship because of a lung infection. Federer has won four times in Dubai, which now promises $2 million in prize money, but he explains of his sickness that “This is something that will be finished only with proper treatment.” He also missed the even last year. He hopes to recover in time to play at the annual tournament in Indian Wells. Andy Roddick from America has also withdrawn from the tournament. Federer is currently ranked number 1 in the world and is 4-time Australian Open winner, a 5-time U.S. Open champion, and a 6-time Wimbledon Champion.
