One high school in Washington is not going to sit back and let drugs take over the school. At 8:30 on Saturday morning officers began arresting several high school students who sold narcotics to undercover policeman at Redmond high school. There were several different drugs being sold on the high school campus. Officers were able to purchase marijuana, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, MDMA (Ecstasy) and several different prescription drugs.
One of the most alarming things is how easy it has become to obtain drugs, especially in an environment where children spend most of their day. It is vital that we begin to focus on drug education and rehabilitation because it is very apparent that drugs are becoming more and more popular. Parents are turning to rehabs like Narconon Louisiana to allow their children to safely come off drugs.
The National Survey on Drug Use and Health reports that children (ages 12-17) are abusing drugs at an alarming rate. Washington for example has 9.8% of it’s 12th graders abusing cocaine at least once in their lifetime. Other states like California report that 6,000 juveniles were arrested on drug-related charges.
Narconon Louisiana is a long-term, inpatient drug and alcohol rehab that does not subscribe to the idea that addiction is a disease. Instead counselors work one on one with a client to figure out what problems drugs were a solution for. In addition to finding out why the person started abusing drugs and/or alcohol, Narconon Louisiana recognizes how vital it is to eliminate cravings. Cravings often times prevent a person from ever getting clean, the body reminds the individual that the drugs are necessary.
When a person consumes drugs or alcohol, the residue attaches to the fatty cells in the person’s body; this is evidenced by drug testing done on hair samples. Drug and alcohol residue can stay in a person’s body for years. While enrolled in the Narconon program, clients have several sessions in a dry-heat sauna. This allows the body to sweat out all harmful toxins and prevents the evil cycle of cravings and relapse.
It is clear that drug abuse is becoming rampant in high schools, as evidenced by the children at Redmond High School. Instead of focusing on the repercussions from their actions, parents need to focus on effective drug rehab. With clients that come from all over the country, Narconon Louisiana boasts an unheard of 76% success rate for permanent recovery.
