Cartier Resources Inc. (TSX-V: ECR) has announced an additional massive sulphide drill hole intersection on the Xstrata Option project. Drill hole XTA-10-01 returned with values grading 0.51% Cu, 0.49% Zn and 7.46 g/t Ag over 1.2 meters and included 1.29% Cu, 0.67% Zn, 17.20 g/t Ag and 0.20 g/t Au over 0.40 meters. The new intersection confirms the strike length extension of the VMS discovery over 400 meters to the west of the original discovery.

So far, Cartier has drilled 4 holes space over a 1km strike, of which three of the holes intersected massive sulphides. The drill hole that did not intersect mineralization was cut by a diabase dyke. Subsequent borehole EM surveying of the drill hole showed an off-hole anomaly below and east of the hole. All four drill holes are relatively shallow and borehole EM surveying indicates that the bulk of the conductor is further at depth.
