Christy Newlin, the wife of a veteran sheriff’s deputy in Oakland County, Michigan, has been charged with prostitution and using the internet to attract clients for her business.
The 45-year-old wife of Randy Newlin is currently free on bond but will face a preliminary examination on Monday in relationship to charges that she had been involved in the activities for close to twelve years.
Randy Newlin has not been charged with any involvement in his wife’s activities.
Sheriff Michael Bouchard told The Detroit News “"I often receive ... anonymous tips regarding criminal activity of citizens, and this one, unfortunately, concerned alleged activity of the wife of one of my officers and, more unfortunately, proved to be true.”
Christy Newlin allegedly ran a website that advertised her services at $250 an hour. She would then meet her clients at a hotel to complete the transaction.
