Mike Sweeney tested his surgically repaired knee by running the bases prior to Thursday's game.
Sweeney is six weeks removed from surgery and could begin a minor league rehab assignment as soon as next week if he avoids another setback.
Jorge De La Rosa (elbow) threw a bullpen session Thursday and reported no problems.
"He threw about 50 pitches and he threw everything at full speed," pitching coach Bob McClure said.
"He looked really good.
We want him to do that again Sunday or Monday.
We want him to throw 60-65 pitches."
If that goes well, De La Rosa will then begin a minor league rehab assignment that would put him on track for a September return.
