Will Hillary's Donors Turn Into Voters?

USA Election Polls showcases by the vast amount of polling data it compiles that in different states the candidates are doing quite okay, while in others they cannot seem to get their feet on the ground. Take for example Hillary Clinton; according the data released by the Federal Election Commission, the former first Lady is raking in great amounts of money from Californians – a state which supports democrats over republicans 62% to 38%. She is also the top recipient of contributions in Minnesota, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, and a few other states.

Her poll numbers as displayed on the USA Election Poll site indicate that in California and Pennsylvania she has support of about 35% of voters as of August 2007, while in New York her figures showed 48% in July. Floridian numbers indicate a 43% share. Thus, if her donors will indeed turn into voters, she can expect to carry these states with little or no problem.

The latter will be crucial when it comes to carrying the swing vote in Florida, a state that gave John Kerry a run for his money – yet one he ultimately lost to George W. Bush in the 2004 presidential election. In order to sway Floridian voters she will need to appeal to not only the Latino and also Jewish vote, but also appear to the large number of retirees that flock to the sunny shores of the state. Time will tell if the donors' favorite will also become the voters' favorite!
