For those who were hoping that Barack Obama had little by ways of personal opinions and thus sought to explain his guardedly middle of the road rhetoric on many issues are surprised to find out that behind his willingness to negotiate and hear the other side there is a mind made up and a backbone of steel. While the USA Election Polls website indicates that in red as well as blue states his support is gradually waning – he went from 21.1% (21.2%) to only 20.2% (20.5%) – Obama is beginning to get the hint and comes out swinging.
Gone are the days when he would quietly play the middle of the road, and here are the times when he takes issue on the issues. Thus it is not surprising to hear that Obama is advocating a universal health care system for the United States and vows to revoke estate tax cuts that at this point are only temporary. While the nomination hopeful is opposed to the war, he did in a surprising twist of events advocate an attack on Pakistan, which is still hotly debated.
In keeping with the party line, Obama is supporting a path to citizenship for illegal aliens already in the country, while at the same time he advocates the building of a fence to secure the border. Those who in the past saw him as the bridge-builder of the gap between the left and right are now wondering if Obama is little more than a left-winger in moderate clothing.
