Democrats Decide To Stay Out Of the Kitchen

If you cannot stand the heat you should stay out of the kitchen is taken to heart by many democrats who have constituent support for a run seeking the party's presidential nomination. Take for example Evan Bayh, the senator from Indiana, who in the past considered a run. Interestingly, it took him only about 11 days to decide that the heat was too much and it would be best to stay out of the kitchen altogether. It is likely that notion of going up against Hillary Clinton in an all out fundraising war is not something that he is able to sustain. Considering his past support of the Clintons, it is likely that he will back Mrs. Clinton in her run.

USA Election Polls showcases that many of the currently single digit nomination hopefuls have not made the strides necessary to enter the big leagues, and it appears that money for those candidates is running out. One candidate who declined to even go up against the big powerhouses is Tom Daschle who considered running but instead chose to support Barack Obama instead.

Another likely runner who since decided to eschew the heat from the kitchen as once burnt is the senator from Massachusetts, John Kerry. An acrimonious loser to incumbent President George W. Bush, Mr. Kerry has alienated many of his past supporters while at the same time doing precious little to set himself up for a run that would distinguish him from the last time he sought the highest office. He has decided to not run in 2008 and while he is not officially backing Al Gore – who has thus far, failed to declare his candidacy – he is urging his constituents to support leaders such as Al Gore.
