Despite critics bashing her and suggesting that she has already served two terms of presidency through her husband, Hillary Clinton is the only female presidential candidate for 2008. She boasts many honors and accomplishments as well as serves and sits on boards of several committees across the nation. In yet another first move made by the senator turned presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton made public the first commercial of her campaign in which she promises to bring the American public affordable health care. She also passes judgment on President Bush for paying no attention to citizens she dubs as being ‘invisible'. Clinton is quoted saying, "Americans from all walks of life across our country may be invisible to this president, but they're not invisible to me, and they won't be invisible to the next President of the United States,” in her ad.
Former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack was at one time a presidential candidate but now sits national co-chair of Clinton's campaign. He made the commercial public during a news conference in Des Moines, Iowa. While all the Democratic candidates are being pushed to make comments on such topics as Gay and lesbian relations, abortion rights and taxes, Clinton has the upper hand because she's already been in the Nation's spotlight on these issues. Debates should come easily since she was a formidable opponent in the courtroom as a lawyer before she began her political career. Because of her husband's presidency, she's been well prepared for heavy issues and controversial topics alike.
