Edwards' Bus Tour

Once the primaries are over and the two candidates for each party are chosen, they must then decide who they would like to run with them as their vice president. Senator John Edwards says he would be open minded to the possibility of running with his fellow Democratic candidate Barack Obama citing that he has a “list… of people to consider”. He also said he'd like to have an opinionated partner instead of “yes people like George Bush has around him”. Part of his platform is to improve life for injured veterans who were in that war over in Iraq and Afghanistan. His seven day bus tour called “Fighting for One America” is the starting point for that particular subject of his platform.

When it was delayed by an hour on Monday morning, he said his wife was ill possibly from a stomach virus caused by food poisoning. Edwards' intentions were for this tour to be a family event but because of his wife's illness, the family didn't join him until later that day in Jefferson, Iowa. Elizabeth Edwards seemed fine as she stayed to talk with several supporters after the event. She claimed to have eaten something that was not refrigerated, but says that it was her fault. Unfortunately it caused the Senator to cancel his appearance at the Iowa State fair that afternoon. John Edwards is one of the most emotional as his anger seems to come out in interviews from time to time and currently one of the leaders for the Democratic Party.
