Red Sox News

Julian Tavarez went six strong innings against the Angels today but still took a loss after giving up a pair of runs.

Tavarez gave up just two hits and walked two, but he still took the tough loss as the Red Sox's offense couldn't get anything going for the second straight game.

Tavarez also plunked Orlando Cabrera in the third inning, leading to Cabrera taking a few steps towards Tavarez and the benches clearing.

Nothing of note ensued when the benches cleared.

Bobby Kielty collected two hits and robbed Casey Kotchman of a two-run homer in a 3-1 loss to the Angels on Sunday.

Kielty singled twice off left-handed starter Joe Saunders.

His great defensive play was reaching over the wall in right field to rob Kotchman of a homer in the first inning.

He'll continue to start against left-handers and be an asset to the Red Sox, but fantasy leaguers will find little value here.
