Although Atlanta is not as crowded as the Big Apple or Chicago yet, it’s a vibrant city that keeps on growing onto its surroundings.
Tall compact buildings alternate with old mansions and some of the best museums the city has to offer, which isn't saying much.
The best things about the city are the food, the shopping and the nightlife.
Atlanta has an excellent rail system called MARTA if you are within walking distance of the rail system.
Otherwise a car is a necessity here to get anywhere in the city, including to a rail station.
Check with your hotel to see if there's a station within 2 blocks of them.
Buckhead is the area where the fashionable live, but it is also the place to go to when you want to indulge in the sparkling nightlife scene (theatres, comedy clubs, bars, discos, live performances... you name it and you'll definitely find it here).
For the more artistically inclined, the Little Five Points area at the intersection of Moreland and Euclid Ave. would be very interesting.
It features many stores, coffee shops and other interesting places to look at and shop too.
Downtown, there is the Underground mall.
