A shooting and car accident Monday night at Luke Air
Force Base in Litchfield, Arizona left one person dead and another injured.
LAFB spokesman Capt. Gonzales said the incident occurred around 11 p.m. after
two men driving a stolen vehicle ran through the main entrance gate.
When a security officer attempted to confront the men,
the driver accelerated and steered directly at the officer. The officer shot at
the car, causing it to crash.
One of the suspects was killed. The other was injured and
taken to a nearby hospital. No other details were available.
Investigators do not believe the suspects were targeting
