Cowboy Up In Dallas

Dallas, Texas is the third largest municipality in Texas (behind Houston and San Antonio).

The DFW Metroplex, however, is the largest metropolitan area in Texas, and the 5th largest metropolitan area in the United States.

Home to the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars, Texas Rangers, Dallas Desperadoes indoor football, and FC Dallas Soccer, Dallas is a sports lover's paradise.

Hundreds of golf courses dot the landscape in North Texas and dozens of lakes provide fishing and skiing opportunities for those who love the water (and those trying to escape the Texas heat).

The summer months in Texas can be a bit stifling, with temperatures hovering around 95 degrees Fahrenheit, but Dallas does not have the oppressive humidity that you find in a coastal city.

Texans have definitely adapted to their environment - and those who try to keep up are in for a wild ride.

From Deep Ellum, The West End, Uptown, Restaurant Row and Lower Greenville, to the neighborhood bars/restaurants you stumble across in your explorations, you will not be disappointed. Southern and western hospitality and charm actually mean something in Dallas.

Oh! And dress your best. London may have Harrod's, and New York may have Saks, but Dallas is the home and birthplace of Neiman Marcus - and they won't let you forget it!!

When in Dallas, you may want to visit the Reunion Tower and its restaurant, which rotates constantly (although slowly).

The West End is the place to be on the weekends for food, carriage rides and fun.

While you are in Dallas, you may visit the famous Southforth's Ranch where the famous Dallas TV series was shot at Plano, 20 miles north of Dallas.
