The idea that the world will end in 2012 has grown in recent years. It has spread to our schools, and to the popular media in the form of several pseudo-documentary productions on various television networks, as well as a number of books. A search on "2012" will bring up thousands of sites, most of them selling books, or videos, or memberships in 'survival information' sites. People selling 'survival supplies' for earthquakes or other natural disasters have re-branded their products as "2012 survival supplies". Hundreds of books have been written on the subject of 2012, most of them pushing the idea that somehow, something bad will happen. Many of the proponents claim that they have proof that something bad will happen in December of 2012, and that NASA, ESA and other space agencies are covering it up.
In this new AFM*Radio feature program, these claims will be exposed as hoaxes that collapse under even mild scrutiny. This show will arm you with the information you need in order to shoot down the pseudo-scientific claims of the 2012 proponents. It will be a science-based examination and debunking of 2012 doomsday rumors. Your SkyGuide for this show is Bill Hudson, founder of 2012hoax.org.
The show premiers on February 28, 2010 at 6:00 PM Pacific Standard Time, 9:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (March 1 at 0200 UT), and will air on the fourth Sunday of each month at 6PM Pacific, 9PM Eastern (which is 0200 UT on the following day).
