Matt Leinart Looks Sharp in Arizona Cardinals Loss

Matt Leinart couldn’t have played much better than he did on Saturday night yet his Arizona Cardinals still fell to the Houston Texans 33-20.

For his part Leinart did all he could to keep his Cardinals in the game as the second-year quarterback out of USC completed 7-7 for 70 yards and a touchdown pass to Edgerrin James.

Equally impressive was the play by Houston Texans new starting quarterback Matt Schaub. Free from the shadow of Michael Vick, Schaub took over the Texans starting spot after being traded by the Atlanta falcons in the off-season, a move the Falcons undoubtedly regret.

Schaub completed 9-12 for 108 yards and scored the Texans first points on a 5-yard bootleg for a touchdown in the first quarter.

Both teams took advantage of some weak defense as the Cardinals tallied 436 yards of total offense while the Texans managed to rack up 391 yards.
