Originally lasted for Sunday, the NASCAR 3M Performance 400 Nextel Cup at the Michigan International Speedway was once again postponed due to rain on Monday and has been rescheduled for a 10:00 a.m. start on Tuesday.
Race officials have their fingers crossed due to a 30 percent chance of showers forecast for Tuesday. NASCAR has already said that if the race needs to be run on Wednesday then they would exercise that option.
It has been ten years since a Nextel Cup race has been postponed for two consecutive days. In April 1997 Talladega was pushed back two weeks after rain washed out the annual race.
