Samsun Electronics Co. Ltd. has been selected by Xilinx as a foundry partner for a 28nm high –k metal gate process technology manufacturing. The technology manufacturing is optimized for a balance between performance and power efficiency. The advanced 28nm HKMG process technology of the company’s Foundry business will enable Xilinx to implement a new generation of FPGA’s, offering up to 50% lower power savings over devices that were built on the previous 45nm technology node. The agreement will place the companies at the cutting edge of low power logic technology in the hopes of bringing Xilinx’s products that are manufactured by Samsung Foundry to the Foundry to the forefront of the FPGA market.

Samsung Electronics’ Foundry business is dedicated to support fabless and IDM semiconductor companies offering full service solutions encompassing design kits and proven IP to fully turnkey manufacturing to achieve market success with advanced IC designs.
