The Philadelphia Eagles released middle linebacker and fan favorite Jeremiah Trotter on Tuesday, surprising many who thought the Pro Bowler would make the squad.
Trotter was selected by the Eagles in the third round of the 1998 NFL Draft and played four seasons before an ugly split placed him on the free agent market. Trotter signed with the Washington Redskins and played two forgetful seasons for the Hogs before returning to Philly in 2004.
In 2004 Trotter was named to his first Pro Bowl.
Rather than retire the 30-year-old Trotter has said that he will look for another team to play for in 2007.
