Nike CEO Phil Knight Gives Oregon $100 Million
Nike CEO Phil Knight and his wife, Penny, have donated $100 million to the University of Oregon. This is the largest philanthropic gift in school history. Although the university is looking for funding for a new basketball arena, this gift is to set up the Oregon Athletics Legacy Program, which is to help support all Oregon athletic teams.
The arena is said to cost $200 million, so a bulk of this donation may be given to this cause due to it being a high priority to the university. Knight is an alum of the University of Oregon.
