Profitable Knowledge: Business Catapults to Top of Business Awards by Educating Consumers

How direct mail marketing firm educates clients into profits and expands own company in the process.

Clearwater, FL, August 21, 2007 - PostcardMania CEO, Joy Gendusa, started her business by educating consumers on marketing but not charging for the knowledge. Despite giving away this previously high-priced advice, the firm expanded rapidly. Most of their clients have expanded from this assistance as well, with two of them making the rosters of the prestigious Inc 500 and Entrepreneur Hot 100 lists. Based on these outcomes, Gendusa is taking consumer education to a higher level by teaming with CEO EMSI Marsha Friedman to educate entrepreneurs on all aspects of marketing and publicity for increased business (www.powermarketingmania.com) - which has only sent PostcardMania to the top of Tampa Bay business expansion awards, i.e. the Fast 50 and the Gulf Coast 400.
 
According to CNNMoney.com, the Sunbelt region will be the best area for fast-growing job markets through 2015. Pink Magazine rates the Tampa-St. Petersburg bay area number 3 on the list of “Top 10 Metro Areas with Fastest Growth in Majority Women-Owned Firms”.
 
Just over the past 5 years, Tampa Bay has created more net new jobs (217,700) than Atlanta, Charlotte Dallas, Jacksonville, and Raleigh-Durham combined. Nearly 15 years ago, the region had 3 million people. This spring, the area went over the 4 million mark – another stellar statistic in growth.  Tampa Bay is now the 12th largest media market in the country.
 
CEOs Gendusa and Friedman realized in their own marketing research of thousands of marketing professionals and business owners that consumer education needed the following points in order to be considered “profitable knowledge”:
 
• To have the ability to walk away with jewels of information, easily implemented and not be confused or overwhelmed with all the data.
• The know-how to make more money.
• Data on how to get a great response.

Applying those findings, the two women created Power Marketing Mania Boot Camps, the first one held in March 2007.  The 130 attendees who gave testimonials said they were relieved to get a full spectrum of marketing data to help them in their businesses. 99% of those entrepreneurs surveyed after the Boot Camp realized the importance of having a marketing plan and incorporating not just one, but several avenues of promotion and/or publicity for their businesses.
