Garret Anderson racked up a team-record 10 RBIs for the Los Angeles Angels in a 18-9 win versus the New York Yankees. He hit a grand slam and three-run homer, which had a large effect on his RBI total. Anderson fell one RBI short of the AL record set in a game held by Tony Lazzeri of the Yankees (1936), and two from tying the major league record shared by the Cardinals' Jim Bottomley (1924) and Mark Whiten (1993).
Ironically, the last person to hit 10 RBIs in a game was Alex Rodriguez versus the Angels in 2005. During this game, Rodriguez hit two homers to put his league-leading HR total at 42.
