Pete Kendall Dealt to Washington Redskins for Draft Pick

The N.Y. Jets dealt offensive guard Pete Kendall to the Washington Redskins on Thursday, ending an ugly battle between the 11-year-vet and his former team.

Kendall spent much of the off season voicing his dissatisfaction with his contact, claiming he was underpaid and underappreciated by the Jets. Kendall had said he agreed to a salary reduction last year for the good of the team but was promised compensation for this year. When he attempted to renegotiate his contract for this year the Jets refused and Kendall was incensed.

Washington capitalized on the feud and landed the prized guard while giving up a mid-round draft pick for the battle-proven Kendall. He is being looked upon to provide solid run-blocking for a Redskins backfield that ranked number four in the NFL last year.
