Reports are swirling that the impetus for Bishop Thomas Weeks' assault on wife Juanita Bynum was because Bynum was concerned about his uncomfortable yet close relationships with some of the men in his congregation.
Bynum met Weeks at the Renaissance Concourse Hotel by Atlanta's Hartsfield Airport on Tuesday to reconcile, but around 4 am, they were engaged in a physical altercation until a bellman at the hotel pulled Weeks off of her. He fled the scene. No charges have been filed thus far against Weeks.
She was treated at Piedmont Hospital with bruises on her neck and arms.
Bynum, a nationally recognized evangelist, and Weeks, the founder of Global Destiny church, were married in 2002. Their wedding was televised and garnered a lot of national attention.
