Hanson Sues Raiders

Team and Head Coach Sued for Alleged Assault

Randy Hanson has sued the Oakland Raiders and their head coach, Tom Cable, for having been assaulted by Cable last August.  The former defensive assistant filed a civil lawsuit for assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.  Cable allegedly gave Hanson a fractured jaw and broken teeth.  The suit also maintains that Cable threatened to “kill” him.

The Napa County district attorney claimed last October that details of Hanson’s story were not corroborated by the other three assistant coaches that were present during the incident.  The Raiders would not offer any comments on the matter.
