Juanita Bynum Recovering from Attack by Husband Thomas Weeks

Juanita Bynum is in full recovery after being attacked by estranged husband, Bishop Thomas Weeks in an Atlanta parking lot on Wednesday morning.

"I am currently recovering from my injuries and resting well. There are so many great things happening for me in my future, and so much to look forward to concerning my destiny, this too shall pass," Bynum wrote on her MySpace.com page.

Bynum, a nationally renowned evangelist and author, met Weeks at the Renaissance Concourse Hotel near Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport to reconcile. The two got into an argument and Weeks attacked her in the parking lot of the hotel around 4 am. After a bellman from the hotel pulled Weeks off of her, he fled the scene. The attack did enough damage that she was sent to Piedmont Hospital.

According to Atlanta Police Officer Robert Campbell, when the argument escalated, Weeks turned around and choked Bynum. "As he choked her, he pushed her down to the ground and started to kick her and also stomp on her," Campbell said.

The police have obtained warrants on Weeks for aggravated assault and terrorist threat charges.

Weeks is the founder of Global Destiny churches. The two got married in 2002.

Bynum lives in West Hempstead, NY, preaches at New Greater Bethel Ministries in Queens Village, NY, but also have a ministry in Waycross, GA.
