There are many school closings in the state of Ohio today as they deal with unpredictable weather. While the Dayton area deals with high heat and humidity, the Upper Sandusky is still feeling the effects of the massive Midwestern storm that has taken place over the past couple of days.
The Upper Sandusky school district has cancelled classes today after nine inches of rain surged over the river banks. The Mohawk district, which started school yesterday, is also canceling classes today.
The downtown area of Carey is under three feet of water and had to evacuate the Carey Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. The county transferred 28 residents to the Wyandot Memorial Hospital.
In Bucyrus, nine inches of rain fell, leaving firefighters to rescue residents via search boats. They have rescued an estimated 80 people and up to 200 more are expected to leave the area as the flood water approaches the overflowing Black Fork River.
A seven-mile stretch on 1-75 between Beaverdam and Bluffton was closed, leaving one of America’s busiest north-south interstates helpless.
