Bishop Thomas Weeks Facing Charges after Juanita Bynum Attack

Bishop Thomas Weeks will be facing felony aggravated assault charges and making terrorist threats against his evangelist wife Juanita Bynum after he brutally attacked her in a hotel parking lot.

Weeks turned himself in to Atlanta police on Friday morning after retaining a pair of high profile attorneys. Ed Garland will represent Weeks in the criminal case. Garland became a household name in 2001 when he represented NFL star Ray Lewis in his murder trial. Weeks also turned to friend Louis Tesser for counsel for his domestic issues.

Tesser spoke with the media surrounding his client and said “He very much regrets what happened and said he’s sorry for what it’s worth.” Tesser went on to say that he Weeks loves Juanita Bynum and “he hopes he doesn’t wind up getting a divorce.”

Juanita Bynum suffered severe bruising and other injuries as the result of Weeks choking and stomping on her during the attack. In a message posted on a the Juanita Bynum MySpace page a passage read, ““I am currently recovering from all of my injuries and resting well … this, too, shall pass.”
