George Stephanopoulos committed a major faux-paus of journalism in berating Mike Gravel at the ABC News Iowa debate. In introducing each of the candidates, he spoke of their poll numbers. When it came to Mike Gravel this is what he said:
"...former Alaska Senator Mike Gravel, no support registered. Candidates, welcome. Not so bad, Senator Gravel. Maybe it'll go up after today." - Source
That was just the beginning. USAElectionPolls.com parsed through the transcript of the entire debate and found that Mike Gravel uttered the least amount of words. Barack Obama spoke almost three times as many words as Mike Gravel.
ABC News was not fair to Mike Gravel but his poll numbers are not good either. He has not registered above 1% in any state poll since June in which he had 2% in New Hampshire.
