Assistance Provided to New Yorkers in Toyota Recall

Financial World News Update by Equities Magazine

Toyota has agreed to supply supplementary assistance to New York Toyota owners whose current vehicles have been recalled according to the state’s Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.

Cuomo spoke at a press conference on Wednesday revealing the New York Toyota dealers will bestow recalled vehicle owners with at-home pickup of their cars along with rental options, or cab fares free of charge.  Given the breadth of the recall, which includes both Toyota and Lexus models afflicted with sudden-acceleration glitches, the costs will be extravagant. It’s estimated that 500,000 people are affected by the recalls in New York alone.

Cuomo is continuing the investigation into the ongoing recall in order to determine how much was known about the problem by the company before the recall was commanded.  Today, Toyota Motor Corp. President Akio Toyoda took full responsibility for the problems in a court hearing.
