Harry Potter to be musical

Not only is Harry Potter one of the best selling books series and has been made into movies, now it is also set to be a musical. British theater casting directors are on a hunt for the next Harry Potter to star in the Harry Potter musical.

The musical is set to open next year in London and producers have already begun working on the singing script; the only thing they need is a young man to star as Harry Potter and a great composer to write the music.

“The musical potential has to be huge. You are already off to a head start with the most popular book of recent times. Everyone loves the characters and the mythical world Rowling has created,” says a theater source.

The author of the Harry Potter books, J.K. Rowling, just completed the final Harry Potter book titled ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.’ The book series is also being made into movies and the latest Potter movie is ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.’

The theater source adds that it will be difficult to combine all seven books into one show, but producers are exploring different options. “One possibility is to tell the whole story. Another is just to take a single plot.”
