Drug Rehab Helps Put Addicts Back On Moral Path

Narconon Suncoast uses guide during treatment to stop the declining moral code that goes along with substance abuse.

According to a new study from the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) released in May 2009 report, between 49 and 87% of arrestees have tested positive for illegal drug use. The moral decline of society because of substance abuse has cost the government billions and has destroyed families and societal values in general.

Recognizing this as a major societal ruin, there is one drug rehabilitation program that specializes in helping addicts get back on the road to “better living.” Narconon Suncoast Rehabilitation Center uses a key component to their drug treatment; a course called The Way To Happiness. This course helps Narconon clients to acquire a common sense guide for living where they study precepts like, “set a good example,” “don’t do anything illegal,” and “seek to live with the truth,” among others.

The Way To Happiness was written in 1981 by American author and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard and has been used in schools, businesses, community groups and even prisons worldwide with over 70 million copies distributed in 90 languages. And, to complement this successful course a new Way To Happiness video as been released going over each part of the book that helps to provide a greater understanding of this moral code and can be used as an additional component of the Narconon drug rehab program.

“We are very happy about this new release,” says Eric Mitchell, President of Suncoast Rehabilitation Center. “Anything that will give our clients a greater understanding of how to put morals back into their lives will greatly aid in their treatment.”

Narconon Suncoast has been in operation for more than a year in the state of Florida. During this time the center has delivered The Way To Happiness Course to more than 24 clients who have received treatment at the center. The Suncoast rehabilitation program is a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation center with a more than 76% success rate for permanent sobriety. The reason why the program is so successful is because it handles addiction on two levels; first tacking the physical aspect of the problem and then focusing in on the mental and emotional components.

“The Way To Happiness is a real solution to handling the underlying reasons why a person uses drugs in the first place and then goes down this path of moral destruction as a result,” adds Mitchell. “Using this component of successful rehabilitation along with the rest of the program is one of the primary reasons why Suncoast Rehabilitation Center gets such positive results with clients.”
